Oh, this is going to have to be a quick entry. It’s getting late and I need to go to bed. So, this morning I got up earlier so that I could go on the run by myself without going for the bike ride first. So, I went for an earlier run so that I could call my mom for Mother’s day. It was scary running by myself because of all of the stray dogs that roam the streets. I passed a couple that were fighting each other and I was worried that they would get bored of each other and come barking at me.
Anyway, it was worth it because I got to call my family. Unfortunately, no one really wanted to talk to me. I got ready early and set aside an hour to talk to my family, but all of them got tired of talking to me and told me good-bye. Plus, I talked to my dad through e-mail to make sure that everyone would be home for dinner at 5pm on Sunday- he told me everyone would, but guess who was the one person not at home….Dad! Way to skip out on that one, I guess next time I shouldn’t give a warning, that way he can’t sneak out right when I’m supposed to call.
Dang, I’m not making this very quick. Okay, teaching went okay today, but there were a few last minute shuffles in the plans when I couldn’t find the right book on time and had to change my today’s afternoon lesson to the one I was still planning and had time to prepare because I was going to give it on Thursday. I tried to take pictures of the kids at lunch today, but my batteries died and before I could change them and get back down, the bell rang for them to go take their naps, so I still don’t have pictures of the little kid-os.
At lunch time, Nancy and I rode down town to check out the camera store. We both have the same type of camera (one of our models in like a year newer then the other, but it’s the same basic camera) and we are both wanting to get a new one. Since we’re in Asia, we figured we could get a pretty nice camera for fairly cheap. But it turns out that the one we want is an American camera, so it would actually be cheaper to order it online from Amazon then to pick it up in one of the stores here.
After class, I had tutoring. I didn’t have my private tutoring because poor Matthew was feeling sick, but I had the class from 5-6:30pm and that went okay. We started 5 minutes early, so we got to end a little early, and that’s always nice.
For dinner I had a crepe filled with smoked chicken, salad, corn, and some type of sauce. It was really good. After dinner I went online to see if there were any waterproof cameras that were made in China and not America, so that it would actually be cheaper to buy while I’m here, but it turns out that there aren’t too many water proof digital cameras in the first place (um, I’m pretty sure I knew that), and the two brands that I would actually buy are American.
When Nancy was done with her tutoring, we went for a bike ride and tried to find a little cake place she’d been to before. We finally found it, but it looked like it had been closed for a while. So we instead went to a large bakery we had passed on the way to the closed cake shop. We each picked up something and decided to half it so we each got a taste. I’m telling you, chocolate flavored things here are not any good, but they will fool me every time. They always look good, but they aren’t!
So Nancy and I have been up and riding, talking, and eating. I also had to get ready for class tomorrow, and that’s one of the biggest reasons I’m still up right now. I have stuff prepared for my morning class, so during my 40 minute break I’ll prepare for my second class, and then during lunch I’ll get ready for my afternoon class. I hate not being prepared ahead of time, but some times you just can’t have everything ready. Sometimes that’s just how life is.
Okay, that was definitely not a short entry, but believe me, it could have been longer!

Trust me. We all believe it could've been longer ;o) ha ha! But to represent your family who all love you - we were on the phone with you for 50 minutes yesterday, so yeah, dad got stuck at church, whine about him. We all wanted to talk to you, booger! Love ya!
