I woke up this morning to do my workout, and there was an extra bag in the hallway. I knew the bag looked familiar and after a second I realized that it was Sister Woods' bag. Sister Ni got transferred today and since the sisters aren't really supposed to be with out a companion, I guess Natalie was a substitute companion or something? I don't know. I do know that while I was on the porch doing my workout Sister Woods and Natalie came up the stairs. They had gone on a run and grabbed breakfast. They staid on the porch and stretched while finished my workout. Then we all stayed outside and talked for a while. I hadn't realized yet what was going on and so I was confused when Sister Woods went down into the classroom with Natalie (we'd all showered in turn, don't worry). I found out that Sister Woods loves to swing dance and so we've decided that in two weeks, on her p-day, she's going to teach me a little bit of swing.
Class was boring today because I had to sit through all of school, but I wasn't teaching. Beth did a pretty good job, but her timing was off in some of the classes and I had to pop up and help out a little, and/or offer suggestions from the back. I hope she does well tomorrow, because I'm not going down. I think that tomorrow morning I'm going to head off for a nice long bike ride. Because I'm going to Kenting on Thursday to go snorkeling, I'm going to go to Carrefour to see if they have a disposable waterproof camera, and then as long as I'm off that way, I'll probably go to Tchishingtan (I don't remember how to spell it and I'm not in the mood to look it up in my other blog post). And maybe I'll look for that hiking trail Amy showed us. It all depends on if it's raining or not I guess. It's raining right now and I heard that another typhoon is forming and so we're supposed to be getting lots of rain this week.
Mmmm. I made a really good dinner tonight. At lunch I went out and bought bread and chicken because I had tomatoes and lettuce that I needed to use up and I had this awesome dinner idea jump into my head. I made grilled chicken sandwiches with tomato and lettuce. After school I chopped up garlic and green onion and squeezed a lemon so that I could "marinade" the chicken for an hour and a half while I tutored. After tutoring I cooked the chicken and toasted the bread, cut up the tomatoes and washed the lettuce. It was so good, I am way proud of myself for it.
Unfortunately I had to eat the sandwich pretty quick because June was coming at 7pm to pick Beth and I up to go to her house and watch a movie. We watched "Run Away Jury" and it was an interesting movie. Two of June's cousins were over and since the movie was in English, they didn't follow it too well (even with the subtitles on) and so I felt bad for them. The movie was a deeper, more serious movie and so it probably wasn't the best choice of movies, but I did enjoy watching it. After the movie we sat and talked a while. June is great. She asked if there were any questions about the culture or land or people that we had and wanted to know if there was anything we wanted to see while we're here that she could take us to. I couldn't think of any questions right off the bat (I'm pretty used to not understanding, and just accepting) but I did tell her I would love to take a drive down the east coast. She was wondering how far down we would go and so I need to show her my traveler's book so she can see if it's too far or not. I was up and had the energy to keep going, but Beth was zoning out and once we realized that it was a quarter to 11pm, we decided that it would be best to have June drive us back. I'm excited to hang out with her more and I hope that we do go out and do some fun things.
Dang shoot. I got home and checked my email and I REALLY wish that I read Chinese because I'm pretty sure I just got an email for the "travel agent" who is supposed to set up my Hong Kong trip that says that it's not going to work out. I tried to use an internet translator, but it doesn't work out so great. But, what I think I understood was that the hotel is already booked for those days. Dang it! It's supposed to be next week, I've got to hurry up and get on this. There's no way that I can miss this trip, I've got to figure something out! And how!
