Yuling's Back

I don't feel very accomplished today. I did a lot of waiting and a lot of internet surfing. I was supposed to take over Kaylene's two tutors today. One is at 2:30pm- 3:30pm and the other follows right after at 3:45pm-4:45pm, with my regular tutoring class following from 5:00pm-6:30pm. I wanted to get a lot done in the morning and early afternoon because I knew that I was going to spend my late afternoon and early evening doing straight tutoring.

I did my workout in the morning. I showered and started figuring out plans for Hong Kong. I located my hostel and figured out what I'm going to do each day. The rough sketch is that Wednesday I'll only have time to check out the shopping places. Thursday will be spent at Disneyland. Friday I will go to Vicotria Peak, and then possibly I'll go to Ngong Ping where there is a skyride and quaint village before flying back.

I got a call around 1:00pm or 1:30pm letting me know that Tiffany (my 2:30pm tutory) was not going to come. That gave me time to go downstairs to have Steffanie order me a train ticket to Taipei for August 25th. I went down in perfect timing because right after I went down, Yuling came. It's been a month since her baby was born and so she can come out of her room now. It was perfect timing for her to come back because she could help me e-mail the travel agency the banking information so that they could refund the money, and she could help e get a train ticket. That's pretty much all I saw of Yuilng today though, because after ordering the ticket I had to go and pick it up from the train station and then I had to make it back in time to tutor Audrey (the one at 3:45pm). Audrey's tutoring was easy, she's done with her English book and so we played memory match with lots of vocabulary cards.

After Audrey I had to run off to class. Usually there are 5 kids in the class and so I brought down the three wooden toys that Grandma sent me. I figured that if two kids didn't get a prize at the end, it was okay, they would be highly motivated to stay good in class. Unfortunately there were only 4 kids in class today and so at the end, there was only one boy who didn't get a toy. I felt like a smuck and promised him candy next week. But, thanks Grandma, the boys who got the wooden toys were really excited and couldn't wait to go and paint them. I'm still debating whether or not I want to give away those other wooden crafts. Right now they're decorating my wall. I think I will end up giving them away, I just have to wait until I'm really almost gone, and in the process of packing things up, so that when my wall is empty I'll be okay with it.

I went to the night market with Beth after tutoring and picked up a juice. Ronald was busy again, and then told me that it's my fault that we never talk because I always come and then it gets busy, and I never come when he's not busy. That's because he's never not busy. I reminded him that I'm leaving soon. He didn't seem too concerned. What a booger! Beth wanted to go to the grocery store and the bakery, but she was a little apprehensive to go by herself. I went with her, but let her lead. She got us there and back okay, so she's coming along, and she'll make it okay. We spent some time talking after we got back and then I've been doing not much since then.

Beth just came in and asked what the "castle looking thing is of in the distance." I walked outside and looked at what she was pointing at. I've never noticed it before, but looking at it made me very curious. So, I'm going to finish up here and ride my bike over to try to figure out what it is. Oh look, I've finished up here, I'm off.
