Written July 2nd, But Posted July 3rd

I think that I really like the new 3 year old boy, Leo. He was still shy this morning, but by the 10:40am class he was willing to participate. He’s pretty cute, but I wonder if he’ll still be cute when he’s no longer shy.

It was Natalie’s first day teaching and she seems to think it went pretty well. As far as I could tell, her lessons went well because the kids came in and shared with me what they had learned in Teacher Natalie’s class.

Golly, my brain is seriously not working right now, let me stop and think about what I did today. Oh yeah, I went running today. Natalie came with me, but because her bike broke yesterday we had to just run from our house and not ride to the trail first. She started off at a good pace and I was really excited, but then she slowed down. I knew she would and I was okay with it. I kept telling her to go whatever pace she needed. We made it to the trail and then turned around. Then I went off to pick up breakfast for the two of us.

Because we didn’t have to ride our bikes and because we got an early start, I had a lot of time before class. That was good because I had more to prepare then I thought I did. I had to make a memory match game and that takes longer then you would think. So classes went well. I’m still not quite adjusted to the fact that the lesson times are longer, but it’ll come (hopefully before too long, I only have a month left to teach).

Lunch time was spent prepping for my afternoon lesson, so it was pretty boring and frustrating because the internet was acting up.

My afternoon lesson went okay, I taught about mangos. And then after class Yuling cut the mango for me so that I actually got a lot of fruit out of it. Now I know for next time, you really can get a lot of fruit off of a mango. And because I don’t have tutoring I played with the kids outside. Oh man, I got so sweaty. But the kids really enjoyed it and I of course had fun too.

Yuling asked if Nancy had ever showed me this one noodle restaurant. I told her that we’d never gone there and so she showed Natalie and I how to get there and ordered for us before she took off to go make her own dinner. It was pretty good. The drink was a plum and rose drink- that was questionable, but it was worth trying for sure. We had a corn chowder type soup, although it was much more watery. For the main course I had spaghetti with white sauce with bacon and vegetables- that was good. And I tried dessert but didn’t like the plum pudding/jell-o and left it on the table.

We headed back from dinner and I was in a bit of a hurry so that I could make it back in time to tutor Dar-sen, but it’s now 8:13pm and he hasn’t showed up. I guess he’s not coming tonight. That actually works out okay because if my internet is not acting up, I can work on my Thailand post right now. Yay!

Oh yeah, at some point in time today I took out my old camera to make sure that it was still broken. Guess what… it is no longer broken. I now have two cameras. I tried one more set of batteries, just to see what would happen. The camera most definitely turned on. Although I do love my new camera (especially now that I know I didn’t get ripped off), it kind of ticks me off that my camera didn’t work with the brand new batteries I had bought right before going to Thailand. Well, whatever, I can always sell the old one at some point in time, right?
